FINDING AND LIVING PURPOSE

Mapping Your Faith Journey

As we develop our relationships with Christ we tend to go through different phases or environments. Each step of the way we should seek to draw closer to God, others, and our purposes. At FUMC we encourage people to draw out a map of their lives. When they do, they begin to notice how different stages of their lives went through these different environments. We believe that life is similar to a journey and with God that journey has direction. During first-century Christianity, many Christians would use the Chi symbol in Greek which is an "X" to refer to Christ. We believe that our journey should always seek Christ which is why we say "Come join us on the Journey; where X marks the spot." If you feel lost in your journey and don't know what to do next, please come and visit us - we would love to help you navigate the next step for your life.

Purpose environments develop the area of calling understanding the "who," "what," "when," "where," "why," and "how" for your life. Each person that is on this earth is created with a God given purpose. These purposes can be in the moment or for a whole lifetime. FUMC seeks to help people to connect with their purpose. We believe that just coming on any given Sunday can become unfulfilling unless one is able to connect this with their purpose. There are multiple areas where one can explore what their purpose is one of the best ways to do this is to connect with a committee chair or one of our pastors that you feel you can discuss this with.
